Betty-Jeanne Korson – Sectional Master
I began playing bridge in January, 2014 after the loss of my husband of 61 years of marriage. Since we had never played bridge together, it was a way of recovering from my grief, as it was a totally new experience, separate from my personal life.
Bridge was a new beginning, as the way I played in college in the fifties was totally different from the way I was learning now. Bridge lessons and good partners helped me bring my game up to speed. Joining the ACBL was also a good way of keeping up with the latest bridge news.
I enjoy playing in local clubs and now online, although I sorely miss the give and take of personal contacts. But we will all persevere and hopefully, will be back playing in real life situations again.
I would like to see more limited games (under 500 points) as that will give a more realistic chance of doing well, playing with people of like abilities. I enjoy club events and contests and reading about other players.
